Senator Schumer has a long record of delivering federal support and funding for investments that promote job-growth and economic development throughout New York. From securing vital funding for fire and police departments, investments in innovative research and development at labs and universities, funding for critical infrastructure and mass transportation, and bringing low-cost air service to upstate New York, Senator Schumer has worked to improve the quality of life in communities across the state. Recently, Senator Schumer led the fight to pass the economic recovery package, which will create over 200,000 new jobs across the state and give every middle class family in New York much needed tax relief. Visiting all 62 counties in the state during each year he has served in the Senate has helped Senator Schumer understand the needs and challenges of people in every New York community.
